My wife and I woke up around 11am yesterday [May 3] and went straight to fixing our cellphone to tune in to the live boxing between Pacman and Hitman via mobile streaming the same way we did in Pacquiao's last 2 fights prior to Hatton.

When finally after a gruesome 15 minutes of trying and re-trying to connect, we connected and sakto Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton is already coming inside the ring. So yeah, we missed the Pambansang Awit that was sang by none other than the concert king himself - Martin Nievera which happens to be the first male singer of our national anthem in boxing [as I've heard in a news report].

I'm not really a professional boxing analyst but minutes before the fight started I told my wife that in the first round someone will fall and will be able to come back up. I remember her saying, "Ano ka si Nostradamus? Detalyado pa ang prediction mo eh noh!" because we have a documentary of Nostradamus. My predictions are based on the statements of both camps and it did happen, not just once but twice in the first round. Actually it was supposed to be 3x if Hatton haven't embraced Pacquiao the first time. I said, this will not stretched til the 7th round and 10 seconds left in round 2, the inevitable happened, Hatton is sleeping on the job [see photo above].

Both fighters definitely have the skills but prior to a fight, being more quiet is still the safest way to do it. Kumbaga sabi nga ng mga successful people in every industry, "Winners act more and talk less" and this is true even in boxing plus the fact that it will save you the humiliation should you come short in your objectives just like Ricky came very very short. If he just kept his mouth shut and just focused all his energy in envisioning of beating Manny, then that could have been more productive as everything we do, we exert energy. And energy should not be wasted especially via boastful talking. But, still, my respect to Ricky Hatton as he is one of the few boxers Manny Pacquiao has fought that is a friend to The Destroyer [I hope he will still be after this].

The Mexicutioner has already won 6 different titles in different weight classes - 112 lbs, 122 lbs, 126 lbs, 130 lbs, 135 lbs [according to this Yahoo article] and just yesterday 140 lbs. This put Manny in the likes of Oscar Dela Hoya which also won 6 different titles in different weight classes while Sugar Ray Leonard with 5 titles.

This fight "could" be a cue for the retirement of Ricky Hatton if he does, he can focus on drinking beer which he like very much. Maybe he could come to the Philippines and fight Pinoys in a beer drinking contest, maybe just maybe he could win over Pinoys. Although that is highly unlikely as Pinoys love drinking beers and other liquors as well... To Manny "The Retirement King" Pacquiao who won almost PhP1,000,000,000, congratulations!
