While reading some internet news reports about the bout between England's, Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton and Philippines', Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao as I'm quite excited to watch the boxing match between the two fighters [so is the rest of the 90M Filipinos as well I believe] as for the Englishman, this would mean becoming The Pound-for-Pound fighter and for the Pambansang Kamao, this would mean being permanently marked in the boxing history as the First Filipino [first Asian] to win 6 different titles which could pave way to being one of the best fighters in the world if not the best.

But this particular line from Bob Arum caught my eye out of the many news reports I read, "The trainer (Roach) is training a future president of the Philippines. The people sitting here are already campaigning to be in the cabinet." This statement is in the Yahoo article entitled, "Pacquiao and Hatton ready for the big fight" where Arum [owner of Top Rank] said the above statement explaining why Team Pacquiao is not responding to the soft-trash talk uttered by Floyd Mayweather Sr., the head trainer of The Hitman.

I have nothing against the aspiration of Manny to run as president of the Philippines as anyone eligible to run for the position can run if they want to as long as they pass the preliminary requirements which majority can. Actually, Manny can even win the election if the sole basis will be popularity but the question still remain, "Is he capable of leading the country?" by leading, merely being a "strong influencer" is NOT enough. Knowing at least the basic issues of the entire country and the world, is a pre-requisite. Yes, like Erap said which I read in another Yahoo News Report, there's no academic education for being the president of a country and that you have advisers to give you advise on different subjects but does he have the keen analytical mind to decide and implement which of the hundreds of advises he'll receive from his supposedly fair, just and intelligent advisers [benefit of the doubt as always] on a large number of issues such as the environment, macro economics, job security, investments, justice system, etc.

Charisma, money, popularity are NOT ENOUGH to lead a country towards greatness. Should Manny decide to run 101%, then he should practice his "analytical mind" and his solid "implementation of his decision" as the president of a country, these are for me the 2 very important traits for a president in order for our country to fly and soar high. I say this because basically being the president of a country is pretty much like being an owner of a business venture, there are a lot of issues revolving around the business that needs to be solved, there's really no academic education to be a business-owner, everyone can become a business-owner but analyzing the things that may improve the business and implementing it despite a huge number of detractors is the key. As the president of a country and as the business-owner, do not let the people decide about the fate of the country or the business but rather decide about the country or the business' fate as it's your job as the president or business-owner to decide with your keen analytical mind and that your decision should be solid and final which is of course based on "proper analysis".

Just always remember that in analyzing, it should be for the betterment of the majority ]this doesn't mean that when people don't agree with your decision it's not for the betterment as sometimes even if people don't agree with your decisions, it's still the best for them] because no one man can unite all people as that is simply impossible because all of us have different beliefs and thinking. If Manny can analyze well and solidly implement his decision based on his analysis from huge number of advises the betterment of the majority, then he might become a very good president. The same is true to any other president-wannabes like Mr. Padyak, Mr. Red Cross and Mr. Benepisyo.

After I dropped off my wife in Ayala-Paseo this morning, I saw a group of people with streamers and posters that is rallying in front of BDO in Paseo-Makati Ave.

Their concerns? I am not really a rally type of guy as I personally believe that all people have limited time and energy that should be used "wisely" to further improve the life of a person and his loved ones. But we all are entitled to use it freely to whatever we desire of course. That's why I do hope that these people will at least be heard and hopefully they don't catch colds, coughs or any other sickness as it's raining very hard a while back.

My only concern about these activities is that while they try to make their voices heard, I do hope they do it without disturbing other people in the process because causing trouble to other people will minimize the strength of your voices because maiinis ang ibang tao imbes na mahabag sila sa objectives niyo kasi kanina the rallyists caused quite a vehicular traffic as they are standing still in the middle of the road which blocks the drive path of vehicles. And also, by doing so, I hope that they maintain cleanliness as whatever advocacies they have will be put in the drain if Mother Earth is destroyed which may result to the trashes they leave behind in appropriate places instead of straight to trash cans. Improper waste disposal results to increase in carbon which results to Global Warming which harms Mother Earth. This is rallying responsibly without disturbing other people and without harming Mother Earth.

I stand corrected about the blog I wrote entitled, "How to be ready on Swine Flu Virus" that it's a new virus but rather already an old virus that had isolated cases in the past. It only became very evident today.

But still, it doesn't have an anti-virus as of the moment so utmost precaution is still required to everyone. Based on reports, our country is "prepared" to deal with people that have symptoms. If that is the case, then that's good news and hopefully it's not just talk.

Rainy Summer

Posted by Admin | 1:10 PM

As I look at the window just now before shutting down my PC, I can't help but be sad about the darkness of our sky despite the summer season. This has been the scenario lately for the past few days. Abrupt rain and frequent drizzles.

This is the "current norm" of our climate because of the current situation of Mother Earth. She is sick due to the enormous carbon trapped in our atmosphere that results to Global Warming. Again, this is still reversible as long as everyone do their own share of saving our common home. I urge every Juan to learn more about the subject by reading more books, magazines or articles. I also urge every Juan to personally apply everything that could help Mother Earth and also do everything that you can to inspire and influence as many people as possible to do the same.

This is not just for our sake but for the sake of our future generations as well. A parent who loves his children, a brother who loves his siblings, a religious leader who loves his followers, a political leader who loves his countrymen and a person who loves the world should help combat Global Warming. Just now as I was about to end this blog, it started raining hard again.

This problem needs less talk and more action so I do hope that everyone act more and talk less. I do hope that my future grand children will be able to meet your future grand children as well. More power!

It's all over the news: TV and internet that there's yet another health threat originating from Mexico that scare people all over the world, Philippines included. This "new" sickness is called Swine Flu Virus. New sickness evolve rapidly these days and as a regular citizen of the world, I have no idea about its evolutions. But I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with how people use the resources they have which positively or negatively affects the environment and its inhabitants.

According to the news, there is no available vaccine yet for this new virus so to combat it is to be cautious with the food we eat, interacting with other people or creatures and pray that the things you do to prevent it from getting at you is enough. This increases our chance of not getting the virus. As wise men said, "Doing something is definitely better than doing nothing". For now, avoid eating pork as it originated from pigs. Avoid shaking hands or beso-beso as it can be transferred by doing so. Just explain to the person why you have to shy away from doing such things for now to avoid misunderstandings.

It is said in the news that the average lifespan of a person getting this virus is 3-5 days and that is super fast. Makes me wonder that if ever I get the virus, I hope that the good and bad experiences I've shared with my wife and other loved ones is more than enough for them to appreciate me should I pass away. I believe that it's not the length of time a person lived his life but the number of great experiences and great lessons you've shared with the people you love.

So should anyone catch this horrific virus even after doing everything you can to prevent it, be strong and try to live the remaining days of your life in adding up great experiences with your loved ones. But I hope and pray that this virus be solved sooner than later.

Click here to read a Q&A on the things you need to know about this new virus. Again, learning or being educated about a subject is the number 1 solution in solving problems.

Tapos na ang masasayang araw ng mga abusadong taxi drivers as they are now obliged to issue receipts come July 2009 as approved by the Supreme Court according to a Yahoo Article entitled, "Receipts to be issued to taxi passengers starting July".

This move will definitely lessen [although not fully eradicate but hopefully it will] those taxi drivers who think that they are the only people in the country feeling the economic crisis by mandating passengers to pay additional fees. I know this because my wife often shares to me her taxi story whenever she rides one. "Dagdagan mo na lang ng singkwenta ha" are the usual lines of these drivers. Although we definitely understand where they are coming from but that should be left to those passenger who have the heart to give "tips" like we normally do and not oblige the passengers to give a tip [contradicting right] and worse some drivers react violently when their denied of their forced requests.

As for the government, this additional income should be used in projects that would improve the country and not the pockets of some select individuals and just like what I blogged about the taxi drivers, mahiya din naman kayo at gamitin niyo ang kita ng gobyerno sa tamang paraan. Be an example to the taxi drivers and the citizens of the Philippines and the world.

Anything that concerns Mother Earth is every Juan's and everyone's concern. No exemption as we all live in the same world. If the world dies, the entire human race dies as well. If the world lives, then human race shall continue to live as well. It's that simple.

That's why the tiniest, smallest and littlest thing you could do to protect Mother Earth collectively contributes to a better world for us and the future generations. That's why learning more about combating Global Warming as an individual is a must! That's why supporting activities, people, businesses that are supporting Mother Earth should be our priority! That's why personally practicing and applying the things that we learned to combat Global Warming is a must as knowledge is worthless without application. The above things are all socially mandatory in order for us and our future generations to continuously enjoy life.

Because if you don't do the above, by 2100 according to Michael Casey's article of The Associated Press entitled "SE Asia will be hit hard by climate change", South East Asia will be hit hard by Global Warming and our beloved Philippines is included in the list together with Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. It will hit us in all aspects, economically; physically; socially; etc. There would be massive droughts all over the country, shortage of food and drinks would occur, sea levels will rise covering most of our land and who knows what else negative effects that will kill hundreds of thousands of Pinoys of different age, dialects, gender, etc... Imagine losing Boracay forever. Imagine losing Chocolate Hills. Imagine losing our current bet in The New 7 Wonders of the World. Imagine losing Intramuros. Imagine losing the entire country because of Global Warming.

It's not yet too late but we no longer have the luxury of procrastinating as gradual actions are no longer enough to combat this merciless villain called Global Warming. This is our current biggest enemy that sprung out because of us human beings. We created this monster and we are the only ones that could destroy it - not Superman, not Wolverine, not Iron Man... No one man. Only our collective efforts could combat Global Warming. This is now the time for the superheroes in us to work and save our planet. If that seems to be a very big responsibility on your part then just think about saving your pretty and adorable child by learning more how to fight Global Warming, practicing the information you learned and teaching and inspiring others to do the same things that you did. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO WIN THIS WAR.

I read a very interesting article from www.tempo.com.ph about "How to survive in showbiz". This is a very interesting article especially to those people who are aspiring to be in showbiz [basically the future members of www.imthenextbigthing.com who wish to become a professional actor, model, singer, musician or dancer].

Showbiz is a very profitable career as evident by showbiz personalities in Hollywood with their big houses, fast cars, etc. and also evident to our local showbiz personalities such as Willie Revillame and his pool of assets and other local talents BUT it's not a walk in the park that's why it's a must that you read the tips that was shared by the author at Tempo should you wish to become successful in this very tight industry.

Some of the tips that was shared on the article are: Having talents [which is the main tip obviously], learning how to speak tagalog, treating people with respect, and a lot more. To read the entire article, click here.

I received a text message today at exactly 11:45am from [I choose not to post the name he/she included in the text message] who claims to be a PCSO Consultant offering me to call him/her if I'm interested to know the SURE HIT LAST 2 NUMBER AND SWERTRES.

I know that this is not normal and probably a scam although I normally give the benefit of the doubt and honestly kinda tempted as well BUT the issue here is not if it's a scam as it's 99% scam-like but rather if this is true then it's sad that this "game of chance" is not really true as they are able to "control" the system [which is possible of course] thus making it not a game of chance after all but rather a "game of whoever they want to win". If that is the case then the millions of Filipinos betting their way towards financial independence is being duped or robbed freely.

I hope that this is just a prank text or paninira lang sa organization and that PCSO is really and legitimately providing Filipinos the "chance" to become financially free by simply betting and in the process help other poor people via the projects of the organization.
