The LBC issue is now resolved... Thanks to the openness of the remittance firm and they voluntarily ordered their advertising agency to discontinue the airing of their TV commercial where a young student spelled the word 'R-E-M-I-T-T-A-N-C-E' to 'L-B-C' possibly despite the fact that they may have invested a lot of money in creating it.

Does anybody believe that the spelling of the word 'remittance' is 'LBC'? Well, personally some people might especially the young ones. But I believe that the war against "misleading advertisements" is far-fetched. As they say, "You may have won the battle but you haven't won the war". As almost all TV commercials are misleading in some way and some are probably more disturbing than the LBC commercial especially to children thus in relation to this LBC issue should be discontinued to be aired as well. An energy drink TV commercial where a man is heavily bumped by a raging train without even a scratch... A juice drink TV commercial where a boy who jumped over a fast water truck...

And we're just talking about TV commercials as the channel for misleading and disturbing contents - there's still other channels such as TV shows (even cartoons), radio shows, internet, cellphone, other people in the community, school, etc. Just like the latest sex videos of Dr. Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili that is circulating on the internet and cellphones which can easily be accessed by children. How can we prevent such contents especially via the internet and cellphones? IF it can be prevented via such platforms [though I doubt as bad people are very resourceful in doing bad things], when will that be? By that time, children have already accessed it and may have misunderstood it already... That's why for me, the BEST solution [supplementing this with airing out to the concerned agencies] to this war is for parents, older siblings, older people, etc. to properly guide them [young ones and immature old people included] on what you think is right or wrong.

I admire LBC for being socially-responsible but not everyone is like that - welcome to the reality. And congratulations as well to those who are tireless in fighting against these threats to children but I hope you supplement it by properly guiding the young ones and teaching the same thing to other people as well. More power to all of you!

This is to inform my few Filipino readers that I'll be writing my blogs via the english language from this day forth not because I'm being non-Filipino as I'm proud to be one but rather because I just recently saw in my stats as I seldom look at my stats that there are a lot of netizens from other countries that are able to visit our weblog via their queries on various search engines. This is because English is the world's most commonly used language thus dubbed as the universal language.

Rest assured that I'll be blogging in plain english as I personally don't find it comfortable opening Meriam Websters Website and keep on looking for the meaning of hyphaluting [hard to understand] words.

Baron Geisler is on the news again and (thinking of the most fitting emotion for this issue...) - and it's because of another "sexually related" issue this time around to Yasmien Kurdi.

I'm no showbiz reporter and I'm definitely not acquaintances of these celebrities but only one of these parties is true. I'm just confused as to why Baron is doing this over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

See how annoying it is repeating something over and over especially if it's a mistake?
Of course, this is of course if these allegations from the gazillions of showbiz personalities are true. I love giving people the benefit of the doubt. But if this is true, then I don't understand why he do this over and over [don't worry di na to annoying] again. Maybe it's publicity being an actor... I don't know. Psychiatric problem perhaps... Still, I don't know.

If he really did it, then I'm not for him definitely. C'mon man, he's an actor and used to be a popular one at that thus he could get chicks [whether for fun or serious relationship] without resorting to indecent acts which could possibly ruin his career. The same is true to all of us guys. But he didn't do it and these women are just creating stories then I definitely will side Mr. Geisler for obvious reasons of course. Sometimes kasi there are women that give the impression that they could be intimately touched or worse some even verbally agree to become intimate and afterwards will declare "rape", "sexual harassment", etc. This to me is also unfair to men. As I've said before about laws, it should be amended in favor of everyone not just women, children but to everyone else. Meaning, whoever is at fault [based of course on investigations and other CSI related stuff], should be punished - this is being unbiased.

"North Korea warns of attack, says truce no longer valid", this is one of the few news headlines in Yahoo that got my attention today. But I didn't read the entire article just the first paragraph and scanned a little as I have no interest whatsoever with what the objectives of such activity. You can read it by clicking the link above.

The most disturbing part when I "scanned" the article are the words "nuclear bomb" which is I believe almost everyone know that it's a mass weapon. I have no interest in reading the article because I cannot accept any reasons for engaging in any mass war to other human beings especially of this magnitude. Gera nga lang sa Mindanao napapailing na ako eh. My highest concern in such wars is the negative effect it will have against Mother Earth especially if these countries use mass weapons such as the Atomic Nuclear Bomb which only will kill a lot of people but also severely damage [I think but don't take my word for it as I'm no scientist] our world which would result to a more rapid increase of carbon thus green house gases that damages our world which will in turn kill a lot of lives.

Every thing we do on this world is not just for ourselves. Whether you like it or not, whether you believe it or not, whether you accept it or not... every single thing an individual being on this Earth do on every single minute has an effect [positive or negative] to Mother Earth. Kahit pag-utot lang ng isang tao it has a negative effect to the world but of course this is one of the many exemptions to the rule as this is a must. That's why it's very irresponsible for a human being much more an entire country to do "something" that might dramatically increase the damage of our world. Buti sana kung sila lang ang mamatay sa mga katarantaduhan nila e hindi eh. This is a system. Every single one of us is a part of this system. So if the system breaks - all of us breaks. That's why I don't see any valid reason for engaging in such large scale wars whether for profit, ego, pride, culture, etc. There's ZERO VALID REASON to engage to such large scale wars as all of us will be affected [directly or indirectly] with its effects in the future. Kung talagang gusto nilang magpatayan, don't use such weapons and go back to knives instead as I believe it doesn't have any carbon emissions.

Contrary to my teachings about not to focus on forces we can't control that may lead young ones to misunderstand things, this is an exemption to the rule as this has a negative effect to the world we live in thus negative effect to every single one of our lives thus something to fight for 101% in all possible channels [ABS, GMA, Imthenextbigthing.com, on the streets, radio, etc.] - with the littlest carbon emission possible of course. Sabi nga ng ating bayani na si Ninoy Aquino, "The Filipinos are worth dying for", for me, same is true to Mother Earth, "Mother Earth is worth dying for". And let me just add, "My loved ones are worth dying for as well" just to be clear. This fight against those people who do harm to our sole world should be dubbed as "The Real World War".

Sexting is a coined word derived from the words "sex" and "texting" which basically mean exchanging nude or sexually related photos via SMS or also known as texting. I personally haven't heard of such case here in the Philippines but such modern issue is pretty evident in the US maybe because an MMS message here cost too much as compared to regular texting.

But anyhow the point of this blog is that it's another issue where children are exposed such acts which are highly damaging if they misunderstood it. Again, as I've said in my previous blog posts concerning the concerned people's appeal to MTRCB in banning commercials that children might misunderstand if watched, there are certain things in this world that we personally don't have control over and as such should have a different priority and strategy in solving problems related to such incidents. The best solution in any scenario that children may misunderstand [be it media, technology, other people, etc.] is for matured people especially parents to teach, guide and inspire the young ones and explain the pros and cons without any bias [if possible, especially to kids who are already 18 years old and above] about certain issues that they may encounter.

This doesn't mean of course that we should not appeal to media, technology, environment or other people. We should of course but it should not be our highest priority for the safety of our children but rather our personal guidance because the common denominator of sources that children may misunderstand such as media [TV, radio, print, internet, etc.], technology [PC, cellphone, etc.], environment or people [friends, schoolmates, neighborhood, etc.] - they are all BEYOND our control as either we have little or no influence at all to these sources. It's much like, you don't have the power to stop the clouds from falling and becoming rain but you definitely have the full power to bring all necessary raining gears if you wish to go out or stay wherever you are until the rain stops.

"While on the David Letterman program, I joked that I might need a "mail-order bride" to achieve the goal of having more children in my life. I believe that most people understood that this was a joke and took it as such. (A dated reference, no doubt, and another sign of my advancing age.) However, I do apologize to anyone who took offense. The comments of some Philippine government officials come as no surprise to me, either. Even the one by a former action film star-turned-Senator who beckoned me to come to the Philippines so he could "beat" me over my comment.", according to Alec Baldwin on his website.

Kudos to you Alec for being man enough to say sorry to those you may have offended with your statements in The David Letterman Show, especially to the Filipino people, although it's not really necessary as what you said was obviously a joke as the content of the Letterman Show is comedy thus all statements there are for comedy reasons. Unless of course you said that, "kidding aside..." or "seriously speaking..." and other serious statements. But saying such a joke is no fun either on our side as joking about someone is often funny to other people but not to the person, people, entity, etc. concerned. So with that in mind, personally as a Filipino, apology accepted.

Statements such as this in "comedy shows" should never be taken seriously by Filipinos or anyone for that matter. As the word imply, it's comedy. No offense to Sen. Revilla as I completely understand the "point" he made in his privelege speech but I don't agree with how he delivered it though. Being a public figure or someone being seen by the people [all actions, statements, etc.], he should be mindful of his words as well as being a public official some may think that he represents all Filipinos with his "threats" to Mr. Baldwin. He should be wary that children might see him on TV shouting your lungs out and threatening another human being, be it Pinoy, American or anyone else, just because of a "joke" that was uttered by the person you're threatening. For all we know, there may be a law in the US as well about "threats" [sorry I don't know all the laws] and may be taken against him or worse against the entire Philippines being a public figure at that.

This sends a bad signal to children and to other people who might misunderstand your statements as well. He should inspire people to improve and to improve in ALL aspects. We're not perfect but being a public figure [kahit nga being a simple blogger lang as that is already considered a public figure din], you must strive hard to be as perfect as you can be in all aspects not just for yourself but for other people to be inspired as well.

Mr. Baldwin courageously admitted "his mistake" on that show. And that's being a man. And whether we like it or not, whether we accept it or not, there's nothing else he could do. The same is true with comedienne Candy Pangilinan to the person who fried her because of her "joke" concerning the Igorots. Let's not be a cry baby on matters that should not be taken seriously. But again, serious matters, that's a different thing.

Sadly the latest sickness is already in the Philippines - Influenza A (H1N1) Virus or what was previously called Swine Flu Virus as confirmed by DOH last night. I would like to personally commend the government for "doing something" [probably the best they could have] for the virus not to enter the Philippine territory. Despite all the negative sentiments by the people to the government, this is a job well done at least for the government health department.

Now that the virus is here, what can the government do? Now their job is to contain the virus so that no one else will get it which will simultaneously be done by checking everyone coming in our country for a possible threat. That's the government's job. And they have done a job well done.

Now what can WE do? Fighting a battle that concerns everyone is not just a government concern but also its citizens. This is a team sport whether you like it or not. Now that the virus is here, all the more that we need to be extra cautious in order for us not to get this virus. The most basic preventive measures that we could do to this virus is to maintain proper hygiene by taking a bath and frequent hand washing. Cover your nose and mouth [with tissue preferably] when sneezing or coughing. It would be best to bring a hand sanitizer with you so that you could use it as often as possible especially for such instances. Avoid physical contact with other people such as kissing, hand-shake, etc. Of course, explain to the people why you're doing such thing as a precautionary measure against the virus. They should understand as they themselves don't want to have the virus. Unless they want to have one. It would be best as well to teach these things to your family members and everyone else in your household as you're in physical contact with them on a daily basis.

The above-mentioned measures are of course "some" of the things to do. Should you have any flu-like symptoms, especially if you've been contact with other people, it would be best to go straight to your doctor for immediate check-up.

Nothing wrong in giving suggestions to what the government should do [although disrespectful way of delivery is not right as well either] BUT that should be coupled by personal action. I suggest we focus more on what we could do than telling the government what they should do. As I normally say, "Talk but work as well".

“Don’t be nervous, just think, at the end of the fight, you’ll hear ... and the new IBF superbantamweight champion of the world, Manny Pacquiao.” these are the words that Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao said on his first fight in the US with then IBF Superbantamweight Champion Lehlo Ledwaba which was ranked one of the world's pound for pound boxer that time and first fight with Freddie Roach, according to Philstar.com.

And look where he is today...

I prefer to believe that this is a solid proof of the "Law of Attraction" at work in favor of the person as oppose to believing that what happened to our Pambansang Kamao "destiny" as for me destiny means, even without doing nothing [in Pacman's case, even not training as hard as he always do], you'll still become the person you're destined to be - be it successful or unsuccessful.

Simply put, "Law of Attraction" is attracting whatever it is that we deeply and constantly think and desire.

Pacquiao's road to greatness is not a walk in the park. It didn't come by accident. If I'll trace it back, he wanted to live a better life when he was younger [as far as I remember in Jericho Rosales' portrayal of Manny Pacquiao in a movie]. As young as he was back then, he was firm with his desire to have a better life although don't have any idea how to do so which is irrelevant to "Law of Attraction" as it simply gives the opportunity to the person to achieve whatever it is he desire. The opportunity that was given to Pacquiao was boxing as he felt evident being a natural fist-fighter in his younger years. Even him meeting Roach in the US was not by accident but by "Law of Attraction" as they we're tediously looking for a trainer and promoter for him in the international boxing scene.

The Law of Attraction works every time, whether the person knows how to use it or not... It does. Negative thoughts [bwisit ang gobyerno walang ginagawa para bumuti ang kalagayan ng mga mamayan] attracts negative scenarios [more disastrous events on the person] which result to negative outcomes [more disastrous outcomes on the person]. All of us are very familiar with this experience. I know I do from time to time although I consciously do my best to constantly think positive thoughts about everything not just because I want to have positive scenarios which would yield positive results for me but also over time, it feels better in my heart. While people like Pacquiao, and a few others, who are constantly positive with their thoughts constantly receives positive opportunities or scenarios that yields to positive results.

I do not believe that one is destined to be successful while others are to be unsuccessful. I don't believe that this is how our lives are designed because if that is so then there's really no need for me to work my butt off in becoming rich because I'll become one if I'm "destined" to become one. That's like thinking that one is doomed to be rich while others to be poor whatever these people do - be it not do anything or doing something. You become successful because you do all the things to become successful coupled with being positive that you'll be able to achieve it no matter what. The same thing with being unsuccessful.

But I agree about destiny to one thing, that is you're "destined" to be unsuccessful if you do nothing... That I can guarantee.

Lately my wife and I were hooked in watching several documentaries featured in Discovery Channel, National Channel, Biography Channel and the likes that my wife even bought a couple of documentary VCD's [orig ha as we don't support stolen goods] which I call "lullaby VCD's" as I often sleep during watching it. Effective and safer than sleeping pills...

Though my fascination with history is not as much as my fascination in money-making, movies, entertainment, games, sports, etc., I definitely am interested to learn more about this 47 Million years old human link that was discovered recently. Imagine, a possible "human being" or at least "human link" [one of our ancestors] that is 47 Million years old...

Cool right? I wonder if that "human" could talk... I wonder if that "human" has a family... I wonder if that "human" act the way we do... I wonder the things that this "human" saw during his/her lifetime... Just curious that's why me and my wife will definitely watch this "lullaby show" [as we might fall asleep watching it as well depending on how the documentary was conceptualized]. But still nothing beats living our generation, I just hope that individually we work in order to improve and preserve the livable condition of our one and only Mother Earth not just for us but for the future of our children and their children and their children's children.

I was curious to watch the videos of Dr. Hayden Kho with different celebrities because my cousin shared to me yesterday that they were watching it. This is of course aside from the fact that Sen. Bong Revilla is all over the news wanting to "panish" [punish] the above doctor. So I Googled it and trying to find a site where I can watch it without the need to download. And I did find a site that uploaded it although it doesn't have a sound...

There are 3 scandals where Dr. Kho is the lead star with 3 different women namely Katrina Halili [which is the most popular among the 3] and allegedly Maricar Reyes [a feminine napkin model] and Mariana Del Rio [a corned beef model]. And hypocrisy aside as almost everyone are having sex, I was not that aroused with the first 2 clips as compared to Ms. Corned Beef - sexually that is.

But this blog is not about me talking about my fantasy [less words, less mistakes] of course but rather a simple "sigh" feeling to Hayden and the rest of the women to which he took video without their consents. As a man myself in this relatively modern age with all these gadgets and stuff, I have never thought of betraying a woman like this as I just feel that it's not fair to them be it as a simple prostitute, a FUBU or your "loved" one. I'm not disappointed with what Hayden did as we're not close but I just feel sorry for him and now it's his time to be humiliated just like how the women on these videos were humiliated by his act of voyeur. I mean, if you really wish to do such thing, you could have had the courage to ask them if they want to for both your PERSONAL [I can't stress the word more than enough to say that it should be meant for personal viewing between the partners unless they mutually want it to be shown publicly which I believe a lot of people including myself don't want to] viewing pleasure.

And to the women? Well, I don't really know the real story as to why they came to that point as I don't really give my say to unconfirmed stories but I can give my thoughts based on unbiased assumptions. Kasi if mahal naman talaga [I'm speaking about love based on the majority as I have a different meaning of the word] nila si Hayden, there's no question as to why they gave it all [by having sex]. Yun lang, ang hindi nila alam [as the news reports say], kinukuhanan na pala sila.

Well I guess aside from being barred to practice his profession, Mr. Kho [just practicing how to call the guy should he really be stripped off his license] will face several other punishments for such cowardly act. And to the women, better luck next time as honestly no matter how hard they punish themselves for being whatever they wanna call theirselves for doing such thing [as sex is normal and if they really didn't know then they are victims thus I don't really see anything wrong they did but allegedly love], it won't help. Life must go on. I know it's hard to move on being publicly humiliated like this but what else can you do? You can't just undo what you did or erase the images of you in our minds now. What you can do is to take your time to contemplate and become a better and stronger person because of this "mistake" [asking your partner if you're being secretly camcorded or checking the area first]. People do commit mistakes. It just differ on what kind but all of us do. So wag kayo masyadong paapekto sa mga sinasabi ng mga tao against you, especially if you didn't know you're being recorded, as these people also did their own share of mistakes so they are not clean as well, I'm not. Ang ginagawa din nila yan [sex]. It's just human nature to talk about people's mistakes, sadly. After all these scandals, you'll heal in time and Mr. Kho will definitely suffer the consequences.

I remember when I was younger, I used to be a cry-baby. I was always the boy being teased and unofficially became a laughing stock by my other children in our neighborhood which oftentimes lead to me being in a fist fight. More often than not, my father reminds me that this is a part of growing up and they are just "joking".

Now, segway tayo sa issue ni Alec Baldwin "joking" about Filipinas in a show by David Letterman that is now a sizzling-topic in the Philippines as evident in the media where the prior said to the latter, "I think about getting Filipino mail-order bride at this point or a Russian one, I don't care, I'm 51." Although the statement is not really pleasant [at least to us Filipinos], we have to remember that "The David Letterman Show" is basically a comedy show thus that in mind, statement such as the above should not be taken seriously.

Of course I understand that what Mr. Baldwin said was not right but that's a comedy show. This is the same issue with comedienne Candy Pangilinan where the Igorots were hurt when the latter "joked" about being a human being and not an Igorot. These statements were not seriously uttered but rather just a joke. A lot of us Pinoys say that if a statement hurt, whether a joke or not, it must be true.

I bet most of us have done something like this before, even the politicians who are extremely hot with this issue. Joked about something... Yes, of course, Mr. Baldwin should say sorry probably not because he has done something wrong [because I believe it was a joke] but because he unintentionally hurt someone in the process. But if he doesn't say sorry, so what? Individual Filipinos have a lot of things/issue to prioritize than this issue economic and environmental wise. I hope that we learn to choose to fight battles. Not all battles should be fought. I know I choose my battles wiser these days. Nagmumukha tayong "cry baby" sa mata ng ibang bansa eh, binibiro lang tayo, nakikipagsuntukan na agad tayo [of course this is an exagerated expression].

This issue, for me, is in between right and wrong as it was a joke. Again, it's like the jokes about ex-president Joseph Estrada, the jokes of Jose and Wally and other stand-up comediannes to other nationalities during their spiels, etc. BUT if anyone "seriously" humiliate us especially our direct loved ones, then that's a different issue. That "may be" a battle really worth fighting for.

New ATM modus

Posted by Admin | 3:17 PM

To those who read my blogs, you must be able to remember my post about Martin Nievera violating a Philippine Law when he sang our national anthem in Pacquiao's fight with Hatton not in accordance to the law.

I suggested there that there are certain laws that when violated, the offender should initially be given a warning instead of being punished right away because some people don't really know such laws exist and even if the statement, "Ignorance of the law excuses no one" exist, it still doesn't mean that everyone knows all the law - I doubt if most lawyers even know all the laws. This of course would happen if these laws are amended which states something like offenders of such law if violated would initially be given a warning for the benefit of the doubt that this person doesn't know such law exist. And as I've said, in The Concert King's case, my suggestion is a fair suggestion because he "may" not really know that it's illegal and because he really didn't physically hurt anyone for doing so as his offense is not really that grave.

But with case of stealing money, just like what Ryan Aniceto did according to a news report in Inquirer.net, the above suggestion is not applicable. So it's a case to case basis. The above suggestion should depend on the level of offense ranging from minor to major. And stealing, just like murder, is a major offense as that is already a big inconvenience to the victim even if the reason for doing so is life-and-death.

Let it be known to the public this relatively new modus done by Mr. Aniceto in stealing money by slipping a plastic in ATM cash dispensers and when a person withdrawing cash can't get his cash from a vague attempt at the ATM machine, the person will be forced to leave and that's the cue for people like Ryan to attack. Be mindful of your surroundings in ATM booths and check the machine first before beginning a transaction.

I would just like to document Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) statement regarding the financial stability of the 22 remaining licensed preneed companies to continue delivering their obligations especially to their planholders according to a news report in Inquirer.net.

SEC is the government agency responsible in monitoring the activities and status of partnerships and corporations. You may remember the recent fiasco of Legacy preneed corporations where owner Celso Delos Angeles is charged with syndicated estafa for allegedly duping investors. This of course has to be proven. But if SEC has an eagle-eye then this incident should have not happened. Then after Legacy some other preneed firms are stopping their operations because of inability to pay obligations to planholders. Again, these things could have been prevented.

And now, according to the SEC, the preneed firms with valid dealers’ licenses for 2009 are as follows: AMA Plans Inc.; Ayala Plans Inc.; Caritas Financial Plans Inc.; CityPlans Inc.; Coco Plans Inc.; Danvil Plans Inc. (formerly Berkley Int’l. Plans Inc.); Destiny Financial Plans Inc.; Eternal Plans Inc.; First Country Plans Inc.; First Union Plans Inc.; Grayline Plans Inc.; Himlayang Pilipino Plans Inc.; Loyola Plans Consolidated Inc.; Manulife Financial Plans Inc.; Mercantile Careplans Inc.; Paz Memorial Service Inc.; Philam Plans Inc.; Provident Plans International Corp.; St. Peter Life Plan Inc.; Sun Life Financial Plans Inc.; Transnational Plans Inc. and Trusteeship Plans Inc.

Let's hope that none of the above companies stop their operation or collapse for the sake of the planholders and its other investors/creditors but more for the face of THE governing body for all partnerships and corporation where investors, creditors, consumers, agents, etc. use in researching the stability of the business [partnership and corporation] they'll invest or loan their money, apply as a marketer, etc.

As I've said before, people commit mistakes and I mean ALL people. Not just you and me but everyone else. This is probably what happened to Comedienne Candy Pangilinan in her Mother's Day Show in Baguio according to a news report Inquirer.net where she might have a slip of the tongue during her comedy routine where she said, "Akala niyo Igorot ako, hindi ako igorot, tao po ako".

Obviously having known that Candy is a professional comedienne then that line was "probably" intended to be just part of a show but of course most Pinoys being very emotional taken this seriously. Nothing wrong with being hurt with such statements of course. But such acts are normal to comedians as it's all just a joke to entertain people and whatever spiel a comedian say not everyone will like it. But he/she/they intend it to simply be funny hopefully to everyone but at least to the majority. Try visiting Zirkoh or other comedy bars and you'll hear comedians use jokes that may be hurtful if uttered seriously but since it's a comedy bar [in Candy's case, maybe a comedy show], it's not, as you know it's just a show. I remember Jose of Eat Bulaga even cursing Japanese Nationals in Zirkoh. Ang maganda lang kay Jose may ending statement siya na what happened durinng the show was just entertainment and should not be taken seriously. But whether or not may ending statements na ganyan ang mga comedians, what they say on shows should not be taken seriously. Pero kung sa labas ng show nasabi yun, ibang usapan na yun of course.

Well I hope that this mess where Ms. Pangilinan is involved will soon end positively. Besides, the comedienne already gave her apologies for what she has done. People commit mistakes even the Igorots who are hurting in this issue. With that in mind, it would be easier to forgive someone by being aware that we are all vulnerable in commiting mistakes to others who will in turn we'll ask forgiveness as well. To be forgiven, as Catholics say, is to forgive.

Indeed LBC is raking the news lately but not because of its increasing profits but rather increasing number of concerned people and entities objecting about the firms' TV advertisement as evident by latest news reports in various media where celebrity endorser Edu Manzano plays as a gameshow host that asked a boy contestant for the spelling of the word 'remittance' which the boy answered "capital L-B-C" instead of r-e-m-i-t-t-a-n-c-e [I hope I spelled it right].

I just want to solidify my point in my previous blog about the matter entitled "Spell remittance... LBC". As both a viewer and a businessman [advertising business to be exact], I have nothing against Chairwoman Laguardia and other entities and people about their comment on the TV advertisement. As always being fair and just, I agree that children might really misunderstood the advertisement. Whether the TV ad shall be lifted or not, I definitely support it these people cry out.

But my argument is beyond the TV advertisement 'itself' but rather the things the young ones see and hear from different sources such as TV, radio, print, internet and from the surroundings [neighborhood, school, friends, etc.]. There are times that the request to "control" the contents from such media are denied and no matter how disappointing that is to parents and other concerned people, that's just the way it is. But that doesn't mean, wala na tayong magagawa about the risk of our children misunderstanding such contents. I mean, if it's denied, I personally think there's no need to all hell lose as some rallyists do even in the simplest issue which might lead [which is the sad part] to physical injuries, property damage or worse death.

I love using "rain" as an analogy that there are things in life that we don't have full control just like the rain. Thus not having full control means finding other ways aside from controlling it to solve the matter.

In the case of TV advertisements like the one by LBC, if the request to stop such content fails then the best way to remedy the problem of young ones who might misunderstand such contents is for us [matured people, parents, teachers, etc.] to properly guide and teach them as these contents being shown to media are beyond our control. Forexample, another TV commercial has a content where a well-built guy is walking the street without his shirt and was hit by a raging train that didn't even scratch him a bit. For me that's far more disturbing than the LBC commercial because it might be misunderstood by children that when you drink that product then hindi ka na masasaktan o masusugatan kapag nabangga ka. But as I've said, such contents may still be shown whether we like it or not, whether we think it's bad or not, whether we accept it or not... That's why our daily guidance is the wisest solution to problem of misunderstanding a media content. The request to ban such contents should only be a supplement to this solution but not THE ONLY solution.

There's an old saying that "Money begets money" and most of the time it's true. It's basically the "Law of Attraction" which simply means you attract whatever you heart deeply desires [consciously or unconsciously] on the above saying, money...

But this particular blog focuses on an "Uzi begets an uzi" as well. Let me clarify for a second... The first "uzi" means uzisero or nosey or tsismoso while the second "uzi" means a type of gun and to completely explain the statement a teenager uzisero was hit by a stray bullet coming from a gun according to a Yahoo.com article.

Imagine this teenager is inside his home quietly eating when he ran outside his house when he heard yelling and shouting outside between his neighbors. Talk about being a solid uzisero right? And the result? Being hit by a bullet because of being nosey. Kumakain na lang kasi tsumismis pa eh.

Moral of the story? Wag masyadong tsismoso kasi walang mabuting naidudulot to. Focus on your life. Mind your own business. Sabi nga, "Successful people talk about ideas. Unsuccessful people talk about other people. [chismisan to the max]."

It seemed that our old Sandara Park is slowly hitting main stream in South Korea as a part of an all-female Korean pop group called 2NE1. Good for her! Imagine being the Pambansang Krung-Krung [crazy] ng Pilipinas with her funny, cute but half-baked acting back then to now being prepped-up as one of Korea's rising stars!

But it's funny how people always find dirt to anyone [maybe except for themselves]. According to a news report in Yahoo.com, Korean Netizens are disappointed with the old Sandara Park back in the Philippines especially her photos in an adult magazine where she posed sexy and they doubt if Sandara will "really" be a hit to their country who projects as an innocent artist.

Hmmm... I really don't have any words to say to such people who keep on shouting the "past" mistakes of people [although there's nothing wrong with what Sandara did on the magazine as it's part of showbiz especially in today's generation]. People do stupid things. People commit mistakes. People do wrong things. And if they are people, then more or less, they have done pretty stupid things themselves on their lives. Unless they are aliens. But are aliens, if they exist [I believe they do], do not commit mistakes? Hmmm... I know I have done stupid things and Sandara [but again, if these Korean's basis are the sexy photos then I don't think that's wrong being in showbiz as I might pose with thong myself if I'm a celebrity as it's part of the show - demand and supply if these Korean Netizens know what I mean]. Kunwari pa sila pero panay naman ang right-click nila sa mga pictures ni Sandara tapos click ng "Save this image" tapos lock ng kwarto.

It doesn't really matter [to those who are open-minded, kind-hearted and fair] whether someone did something wrong in the past. What matter is how people learn from their past mistakes and become a better and stronger person. As Rocky Balboa said in his son, "It doesn't matter how many times you fall. What matter is how fast you get up each time you fall."

The image above that you may have received or might receive on your emails is a hoax as per Sony Ericsson Global on their May 12, 2009 Press Release on their official website.

This was sent to me by my wife via email "for review" if it's true or not. And at first being an emotional human, you might be enticed just like I was enticed. But then as I always try to be logical as often as possible, I noticed some irregularities IF this email campaign is true.

First, how can they give laptops if they haven't even have an instruction there asking for my mailing details or how to get the free laptop. Second, I doubt if hundreds of thousands [or even millions] of people believed this and did what was necessary to "receive" the free laptop, how the hell will they be able to supply such number of laptops for free? For me being a marketer myself, I don't think that's marketing... For me, on that scale of freebies that's already charity/donation which is not really that good in business [charity is good of course but to some extent only]. Imagine if a laptop costs at least P50,000.00 and if 1M people participated on this, then that would mean an expense to the email campaign starter of P50M? Hmmm... Third, I don't think Sony Ericsson has a PC product as they are a cellphone company. Although, I think Sony has a PC line but not Sony Ericsson.

And after those observations I was still hoping that it's not a hoax kasi sayang din ang FREE laptop so I Googled "Ericsson T18 Laptop" and then I ended up going to the post of About.com where I was able to go to the Official Sony Ericsson Global Website as well to confirm the email campaign. And yes it's just a hoax guys for your information according to Sony Ericsson's Official Website.

It has been almost a month now since I started this blog with the hopes of being one of the best Filipino blogs especially in terms of its content whether via writing, photos or videos. I know this is going to be a very challenging feat because I'm really really really super lazy in learning technical stuffs like web designing, development, graphic design, photo and video editing, etc. But I'll take it one step at a time and IF [this is a big if] I happen to become successful at least in learning the above subjects, then anyone who consider themselves a not-so intelligent with technical stuffs particularly on the net will be able to do it as well.

Where am I so far? I have used the services of Blogger.com as my blog provider being a super duper mega over newbie in the technical sides of blogging and the best news with this blog provider is that it's FREE plus you'll be able to earn from it via Google Adsense and other advertisements. I have already setup my Google Adsense. Google Adsense is an opportunity for bloggers to earn from the advertisements provided by Google posted in your website. I setup Feedburner as well. Feedburner is basically a subscription service where visitors of your blog will be able to subscribe via bookmarking sites or via email. I also setup Adgitize. Adgitize is a free advertising network where bloggers will be able to earn simply by posting articles [which is normal with bloggers], clicking advertisements and reading their contents, referring others to join the advertising network for free, etc. That's basically how a blogger earns from Adgitize. Click here to join Adgitize for free and earn by simply doing what bloggers do - post and read. I have also setup Entrecard. Entrecard is a free blogging network where bloggers will be able to promote their blogs to other bloggers to drive more traffic to their own websites.

And now the latest installation in my blog is the Google Analytics as I was wondering how many visitors I have in my blog on a daily basis which I don't have numbers for almost a month now because I don't know how to. I just installed it just a while ago and it's still gathering some data [or as far as I know]. I'll still wait for around 24 hours to see if I installed it correctly being a technical idiot that I am. But hopefully I installed it correctly as I don't know where to paste the code Google Analytics provided me in my template. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. indeed has a solid credibility... at least when it comes to talking. I remember the scene in Rush Hour between Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker and another Chinese-wannabe black guy where the Chinese-wannabe is talking to Jacky Chan in the Chinese language saying that Chris Tucker is 7-11 [the 24/7 convenient store] which means he never closes his mouth as he always talk just like 7-11 not closing their convenient stores 24/7. The same is true with Mayweather Sr. as he is a carbon copy of Chris Tucker on that particular role. Now I'll baptist him the monicker, Floyd "The 7-11" Mayweather Sr.

According to The 7-11, his son will just toy with Manny Pacquiao [and Marquez as well] if the two meet in the ring. Hmm... Although that may be true knowing 7-11 Jr. [or better yet let's call Floyd Mayweather Jr. as The Ministop being a younger 24/7 convenient store than 7-11] to dance and run a lot away from the fighter. So on that note, yeah, I agree with 7-11 Sr.

But Ministop supplementing 7-11's statement by saying Pacquiao and Marquez are too small and will beat them both according to a news report in Inquirer.net. This I don't believe is true... For now, it's a 50-50 chance to both fighters although of course being a Pinoy, I'm rooting for Pacman. I mean, yeah, Ministop may be bigger than Pacquiao but Freddie Roach is a very wise trainer and will be able to study Ministop as easy as the 10 boxers that Pacquiao beaten in a row.

I wonder when will 7-11 shut up? Hmmm... I bet when Manny "With an infinite monicker" Pacquiao beat the hell out of Floyd "The Pretty Boy" Mayweather Jr. That is IF the two boxers meet on the ring which is impossible as Roach said in his previous interviews [which for me as a businessman myself is just a strategy to create a buzz and increase the revenues that all of them will get then the bout between the two will push through].

I would like to praise and personally commend in behalf of the world the efforts of the Quezon City Government especially to Councilor Bernadette Herrera-Dy for authoring a city ordinance that will require tricycle and jeepney operators to use eco-friendly technologies for their vehicles. "It's the turn of tricycles and jeepneys in Quezon City to go green.", according to the news report in Inquirer.net.

I am praising and commending Councilor Herrera-Dy because this is a risky move in a political perspective as the people who will be greatly affected by this ordinance are the "masa" which comprise the majority of the voters who can make or break a candidate aspiring for a government position. This is what I'm saying in my previous article entitled, "Who will you vote as RP president in 2010?", that a president or a politician for the sake of this blog should be able to execute firmly what he/she thinks is right to the majority even if it means having oppositions. I hope everyone agrees that we only have one planet where we live and losing it will mean putting to waste whatever efforts we made personally because losing it will mean death to all of us. Without Mother Earth, we don't have a life. Right? That's why this move is definitely a right move although it will not be a popular move amongst public drivers and operators because it will entail additional expenses for them.

But between environment and individual economy, environment definitely is far more important as it concern every single one of us human beings and other creatures of this world. But then, I do hope that the government would be able to "help" these people [by helping not providing the vehicle or parts but if they can why not] to convert from their fossil based vehicles to environment friendly ones.

This is definitely a start... And I admire the government also for "practicing what they teach" by applying the same ordinance on their own vehicles - by using biofuels themselves on their vehicles. This practice I hope be copied by other cities, municipalities and provinces [crediting Councilor Herrera-Dy for boldly spearheading the movement of course] in order for us to have a cleaner air and happier Mother Earth.

"Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo has proposed a measure that would protect political activists from harassment suits and ensure they would be able to continue to express their views against the abuses of those in power.", according to a news report in Inquirer.net.

I personally admire the consistency of Rep. Satur Ocampo and other people like him in choosing the high-traffic streets and roads in expressing their views against the abuses of power and other views they have. Expressing one's point-of-view is A-okay for me as being a blogger myself is expressing my views as well. That in mind, I have nothing against rallies [expressing views] but what I hate about these rallyists is they don't seem to care very much with Mother Earth as evident by the garbages they leave behind during their rallies not to mention the consistent burning of whatever things they wish to burn.

These garbages and burning is a major cause of Global Warming which basically kills Mother Earth and eventually killing us in the process as well as we all live in this sole world. No Mars or any other planet will ever replace our one and only Earth. Should ever there is one, asa pa kayong makakapunta kayo dun dahil siguradong chosen few lang ang makakapunta dun for whatever reason. Thus, it's better to save our planet than "falsely hope" na okay lang masira at mamatay ang planeta natin kasi makakalipat naman tayo sa ibang planeta. Transfering from one world to another is not as easy as transfering from one house to another.

So if you have a family or a friend or anyone you know who actively join rallies, I do hope you forward this blog or the message of this blog to them as all their efforts will all be put to waste, all their shouting and cursing [when they are very angry] as when the world dies... We all die together with it.

Global Warming is a dramatically urgent and serious problem. We don't need to wait for governments to find a solution for this problem: each individual can bring an important help adopting a more responsible lifestyle: starting from little, everyday things. It's the only reasonable way to save our planet, before it is too late.

Here is a list of 50 simple things that everyone can do in order to fight against and reduce the Global Warming phenomenon: some of these ideas are at no cost, some other require a little effort or investment but can help you save a lot of money, in the middle-long term!

  1. Replace a regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb (cfl)
CFLs use 60% less energy than a regular bulb. This simple switch will save about 300 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. We recommend you purchase your CFL bulbs at 1000bulbs.com, they have great deals on both screw-in and plug-in light bulbs.

  2. Install a programmable thermostat
Programmable thermostats will automatically lower the heat or air conditioning at night and raise them again in the morning. They can save you $100 a year on your energy bill.

  3. Move your thermostat down 2° in winter and up 2° in summer
Almost half of the energy we use in our homes goes to heating and cooling. You could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple adjustment.

  4. Clean or replace filters on your furnace and air conditioner
Cleaning a dirty air filter can save 350 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

  5. Choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchases
Look for the Energy Star label on new appliances to choose the most energy efficient products available.

  6. Do not leave appliances on standby
Use the "on/off" function on the machine itself. A TV set that's switched on for 3 hours a day (the average time Europeans spend watching TV) and in standby mode during the remaining 21 hours uses about 40% of its energy in standby mode.

  7. Wrap your water heater in an insulation blanket
You’ll save 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple action. You can save another 550 pounds per year by setting the thermostat no higher than 50°C.

  8. Move your fridge and freezer
Placing them next to the cooker or boiler consumes much more energy than if they were standing on their own. For example, if you put them in a hot cellar room where the room temperature is 30-35ºC, energy use is almost double and causes an extra 160kg of CO2 emissions for fridges per year and 320kg for freezers.

  9. Defrost old fridges and freezers regularly
Even better is to replace them with newer models, which all have automatic defrost cycles and are generally up to two times more energy-efficient than their predecessors.

  10. Don't let heat escape from your house over a long period
When airing your house, open the windows for only a few minutes. If you leave a small opening all day long, the energy needed to keep it warm inside during six cold months (10ºC or less outside temperature) would result in almost 1 ton of CO2 emissions.

  11. Replace your old single-glazed windows with double-glazing
This requires a bit of upfront investment, but will halve the energy lost through windows and pay off in the long term. If you go for the best the market has to offer (wooden-framed double-glazed units with low-emission glass and filled with argon gas), you can even save more than 70% of the energy lost.

  12. Get a home energy audit
Many utilities offer free home energy audits to find where your home is poorly insulated or energy inefficient. You can save up to 30% off your energy bill and 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. Energy Star can help you find an energy specialist.

  13. Cover your pots while cooking
Doing so can save a lot of the energy needed for preparing the dish. Even better are pressure cookers and steamers: they can save around 70%!

  14. Use the washing machine or dishwasher only when they are full
If you need to use it when it is half full, then use the half-load or economy setting. There is also no need to set the temperatures high. Nowadays detergents are so efficient that they get your clothes and dishes clean at low temperatures.

  15. Take a shower instead of a bath
A shower takes up to four times less energy than a bath. To maximize the energy saving, avoid power showers and use low-flow showerheads, which are cheap and provide the same comfort.

  16. Use less hot water
It takes a lot of energy to heat water. You can use less hot water by installing a low flow showerhead (350 pounds of carbon dioxide saved per year) and washing your clothes in cold or warm water (500 pounds saved per year) instead of hot.

  17. Use a clothesline instead of a dryer whenever possible
You can save 700 pounds of carbon dioxide when you air dry your clothes for 6 months out of the year.

  18. Insulate and weatherize your home
Properly insulating your walls and ceilings can save 25% of your home heating bill and 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. Caulking and weather-stripping can save another 1,700 pounds per year. Energy Efficient has more information on how to better insulate your home.

  19. Be sure you’re recycling at home
You can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide a year by recycling half of the waste your household generates.

  20. Recycle your organic waste
Around 3% of the greenhouse gas emissions through the methane is released by decomposing bio-degradable waste. By recycling organic waste or composting it if you have a garden, you can help eliminate this problem! Just make sure that you compost it properly, so it decomposes with sufficient oxygen, otherwise your compost will cause methane emissions and smell foul.

  21. Buy intelligently
One bottle of 1.5l requires less energy and produces less waste than three bottles of 0.5l. As well, buy recycled paper products: it takes less 70 to 90% less energy to make recycled paper and it prevents the loss of forests worldwide.

  22. Choose products that come with little packaging and buy refills when you can
You will also cut down on waste production and energy use... another help against global warming.

  23. Reuse your shopping bag
When shopping, it saves energy and waste to use a reusable bag instead of accepting a disposable one in each shop. Waste not only discharges CO2 and methane into the atmosphere, it can also pollute the air, groundwater and soil.

  24. Reduce waste
Most products we buy cause greenhouse gas emissions in one or another way, e.g. during production and distribution. By taking your lunch in a reusable lunch box instead of a disposable one, you save the energy needed to produce new lunch boxes.

  25. Plant a tree
A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. Shade provided by trees can also reduce your air conditioning bill by 10 to 15%. The Arbor Day Foundation has information on planting and provides trees you can plant with membership.

  26. Switch to green power
In many areas, you can switch to energy generated by clean, renewable sources such as wind and solar. In some of these, you can even get refunds by government if you choose to switch to a clean energy producer, and you can also earn money by selling the energy you produce and don't use for yourself.

  27. Buy locally grown and produced foods
The average meal in the United States travels 1,200 miles from the farm to your plate. Buying locally will save fuel and keep money in your community.

  28. Buy fresh foods instead of frozen
Frozen food uses 10 times more energy to produce.

  29. Seek out and support local farmers markets
They reduce the amount of energy required to grow and transport the food to you by one fifth. Seek farmer’s markets in your area, and go for them.

  30. Buy organic foods as much as possible
Organic soils capture and store carbon dioxide at much higher levels than soils from conventional farms. If we grew all of our corn and soybeans organically, we’d remove 580 billion pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere!

  31. Eat less meat
Methane is the second most significant greenhouse gas and cows are one of the greatest methane emitters. Their grassy diet and multiple stomachs cause them to produce methane, which they exhale with every breath.

  32. Reduce the number of miles you drive by walking, biking, carpooling or taking mass transit wherever possible
Avoiding just 10 miles of driving every week would eliminate about 500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions a year! Look for transit options in your area.

  33. Start a carpool with your coworkers or classmates
Sharing a ride with someone just 2 days a week will reduce your carbon dioxide emissions by 1,590 pounds a year. eRideShare.com runs a free service connecting north american commuters and travelers.

  34. Don't leave an empty roof rack on your car
This can increase fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 10% due to wind resistance and the extra weight - removing it is a better idea.

  35. Keep your car tuned up
Regular maintenance helps improve fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. When just 1% of car owners properly maintain their cars, nearly a billion pounds of carbon dioxide are kept out of the atmosphere.

  36. Drive carefully and do not waste fuel
You can reduce CO2 emissions by readjusting your driving style. Choose proper gears, do not abuse the gas pedal, use the engine brake instead of the pedal brake when possible and turn off your engine when your vehicle is motionless for more than one minute. By readjusting your driving style you can save money on both fuel and car mantainance.

  37. Check your tires weekly to make sure they’re properly inflated
Proper tire inflation can improve gas mileage by more than 3%. Since every gallon of gasoline saved keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, every increase in fuel efficiency makes a difference!

  38. When it is time for a new car, choose a more fuel efficient vehicle
You can save 3,000 pounds of carbon dioxide every year if your new car gets only 3 miles per gallon more than your current one. You can get up to 60 miles per gallon with a hybrid! You can find information on fuel efficiency on FuelEconomy and on GreenCars websites.

  39. Try car sharing
Need a car but don’t want to buy one? Community car sharing organizations provide access to a car and your membership fee covers gas, maintenance and insurance. Many companies – such as Flexcar - offer low emission or hybrid cars too! Also, see ZipCar.

  40. Try telecommuting from home
Telecommuting can help you drastically reduce the number of miles you drive every week. For more information, check out the Telework Coalition.

  41. Fly less
Air travel produces large amounts of emissions so reducing how much you fly by even one or two trips a year can reduce your emissions significantly. You can also offset your air travel carbon emissions by investingin renewable energy projects.

  42. Encourage your school or business to reduce emissions
You can extend your positive influence on global warming well beyond your home by actively encouraging other to take action.

  43. Join the virtual march
The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is a non-political effort to bring people concerned about global warming together in one place. Add your voice to the hundreds of thousands of other people urging action on this issue.

  44. Encourage the switch to renewable energy
Successfully combating global warming requires a national transition to renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and biomass. These technologies are ready to be deployed more widely but there are regulatory barriers impeding them. U.S. citizens, take action to break down those barriers with Vote Solar.

  45. Protect and conserve forest worldwide
Forests play a critical role in global warming: they store carbon. When forests are burned or cut down, their stored carbon is release into the atmosphere - deforestation now accounts for about 20% of carbon dioxide emissions each year. Conservation International has more information on saving forests from global warming.

  46. Consider the impact of your investments
If you invest your money, you should consider the impact that your investments and savings will have on global warming. Check out SocialInvest and Ceres to can learn more about how to ensure your money is being invested in companies, products and projects that address issues related to climate change.

  47. Make your city cool
Cities and states around the country have taken action to stop global warming by passing innovative transportation and energy saving legislation. If you're in the U.S., join the cool cities list.

  48. Tell Congress to act
The McCain Lieberman Climate Stewardship and Innovation Act would set a firm limit on carbon dioxide emissions and then use free market incentives to lower costs, promote efficiency and spur innovation. Tell your representative to support it.

  49. Make sure your voice is heard!
Americans must have a stronger commitment from their government in order to stop global warming and implement solutions and such a commitment won’t come without a dramatic increase in citizen lobbying for new laws with teeth. Get the facts about U.S. politicians and candidates at Project Vote Smart and The League of Conservation Voters. Make sure your voice is heard by voting!

  50. Share this list!
Send this page via e-mail to your friends! Spread this list worldwide and help people doing their part: the more people you will manage to enlighten, the greater YOUR help to save the planet will be (but please take action on first person too)!

Article taken at http://globalwarming-facts.info/50-tips.html. Feel free to share this blog to your family and friends in support to our one and only planet - Mother Earth.

I love reading current events online instead of the traditional print because of the following reasons: free to read the news, interactivity via blogging and commenting and most of all it helps the environment by lessening the cutting of trees primary content of papers thus help Mother Earth and as I was doing my rounds of reading I was glued in reading an article by Mr. William Esposo of the Philippine Star Website entitled, "Will Martin Nievera dare to sing Iran's national anthem his way?" because I also have an article about this issue entitled, "Ang mamatay... ng... dahil... SAYO!!!".

Another reason I was hooked in reading his article eventhough I am not familiar with his writings are the comments he received from the comment section of his article and the discussions going on with the people who gave comments.

On the side of Mr. Esposo, I understand his point that "a law is a law" and it should be followed by the citizens or suffer the legal consequences for not doing so. This is how the world operate for it to have order. I mean, if someone stole something, then by law that's not allowed thus should be punished as according to the law. If someone murdered someone, the same should be true. A law is a law...

But while there are existing laws, I have suggested that there are "some" laws [if not all] where the consequences should be put on hold and just give warnings first especially if the person who committed the offense is not aware of that particular law as I don't think there is one single man on this planet that knows ALL the laws of the Philippines much so the world. This particular "leeway" suggestion that I say is applicable to the law that Martin Nievera broke as aside from tradition and history, no one was really hurt or na-agrabiyado because of this incident for me not even Julian Felipe as it was sung to the best of The Concert King's ballad ability. For me, that's not being disrespectful to the composer or his family or other sentimental people. To disrespect our national anthem is to intentionally change its lyrics especially with hate messages. Yes, Martin may have broken the law in properly singing our national anthem but it should be much of a big deal as no one was really physically or emotionally hurt that's why I'm suggesting for this particular law to be amended along with other laws. If not, baka wala ng kumanta sa susunod ng Lupang Hinirang dahil sa takot na mapenalized for singing it incorrectly. Kawawa naman ang wife ko kapag kinanta niya yan. Anyway, as wise men say, "The only thing that is permanent in this world is change", so laws can be changed and SHOULD BE changed if it needs to be changed.

That's the good side of Mr. Esposo's argument which is undeniably correct [just keep in mind my suggestion to amend the laws that need to be amended] as per the law. But to insult people like Manny Pacquiao, Martin Nievera, Charice Pempengco, Jennifer Bautista or any body else is foul especially to a man who seem to be educated. Although, again as per the law, he is entitled to freedom of expression but a group of disappointed commenters paraded his comment section who has the same right to express their comments on the insults he wrote to the above people. Insulting people should one of the last things we should do hanggang kaya nating magpigil. Mas acceptable sana if the insult is a result of a retaliation instead of an initiation. Dapat palaging respeto pa din ang unang bukambibig at kilos natin. To earn respect, we have to give respect. If Mr. Esposo simply gave a fair and unbiased opinion about the matter he might not have received such raging comments from fair and unbiased people [kasi minsan kahit na fair and unbiased ang article sadyang may mga innately bastos magcomment for unknown reasons].

I remember when I was younger hearing someone in a sari-sari store, "Pabili nga ng Colgate yung Close-up!", it was even used as a joke in the succeeding years. This is what business people call Branding. Branding in layman's term is simply being the first product or brand in mind of the consumer. So in the above mentioned example, it should have been toothpaste [common noun] instead of Colgate [proper noun] which is a toothpaste brand. Business owners love this.

This is what the TV commercial of LBC in an attempt for their brand name [LBC] to become the first product or brand in mind whenever people are talking about "remittance"... If you've seen the commercial, you'll notice that Edu Manzano acting as the gameshow host of the advertisement asked a boy to spell the word "remittance" and the boy spelled it as "LBC" which is of course the brand name of LBC. This TV commercial is being requested by some concerned parties to be pulled out for being misleading and improper as children will not understand.

I have nothing against the request to pull out the commercial but I have nothing against the commercial as well. Kumbaga, walang personalan, trabaho lang.

We as viewers don't have full power to control the contents in any media [TV, radio, newspaper, internet, etc.] as these entities prioritize earning than being socially responsible although they can opt to become one but earning is more their priority. And that I understand them because we all need to earn for our needs and wants. With that in mind, as parents, teachers and matured people although we may not be able to control the contents of such media, we have the power to "teach and guide" the young ones [be it our children, siblings, students, friends, etc.]. That's our role. That's our job. That's our responsibility. It's our mandatory responsibility to our kids, siblings, students and friends because 90+% of all the contents being shown in all media can be misunderstood and misinterpreted by young ones.

Will this group request to stop showing fight scenes, mild kissing scenes, shouting, etc. in TV shows and movies because it may be misunderstood and misinterpreted by young ones? Of course they can "try" but it would be best to have a plan B if in case their attempt to stop such contents by simultaneously teaching and guiding their young ones whenever watching TV, listening to radio, reading newspaper/book/magazine, etc. as that one we have full control. Much like we can't control and stop the rain from falling but we can bring an umbrella.

Anyway, hey, LBC people... I provide a medium for you to advertise as well so this is the only time I'll blog you for free! hehehehe...

While my wife is being massaged and while I'm thinking of what to write in our blog, I happen to watch Bandila, the pre-midnight news program of ABS-CBN reporting about their campaign entitled "Boto Mo, Ipatrol Mo - Ako ang Simula" and the open forum of the Philippine presidentiables in Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU).

Para akong sirang plaka in sharing the beauty of taking charge of our future [Ako ang Simula] instead of letting other people [politicians included] create it for us as that is 100% impossible because no one man can make every single Filipino agree to one thing as we all have our own beliefs and point-of-views on different matters. That being said, a politician can only do what he/she thinks is right for the "majority" of the citizens dahil kahit na anong decision pa ang gawin ng isang politiko o isang tao, palaging may mag-o-oppose dito. And if people are looking for someone who can provide all the needs of every single human being, then there's no such man.

That's why I say that taking charge of your personal life is a more logical way of improving oneself rather than depending on the government to improve your life because the government may take a different direction which would not improve your welfare. But that doesn't mean bulok na ang government. It simply mean [if the politician really thought about his action deeply] that the government's decision is favoring what they think is best for every one. Evidences of this statement are the BPO jobs provided by the government in talking to foreign investors, jobs abroad in talking to foreign employers, etc.

If Filipino voters in the "Ako ang Simula Movement" are looking for one president that would save every single Filipino here and abroad, then you're blindly looking for one. Whoever you vote [Noli, Mar, Chiz, Loren, Erap, Ed, Manny, not even you, me or other Filipinos who think it's easy to be the president], they will have oppositions who believe that the politician is not doing good in his/her position. The job of the president is to assess problems to be solved and execute the solutions he/she thinks will solve the problems for the benefit of NOT every Juan but the majority of the Filipino.

My criteria of who to vote for president or any other politician should I vote this coming election is simple... I don't buy fancy advertisements [at least not to politicians], I don't buy fancy and flowery words, I will certainly not buy those who says they will not commit corruption because the salary of a president is only less than P100,000.00 per month as opposed to the hundreds of millions invested during the campaign [P100,000.00 per month X 12 months X 6 years = P7.2M only versus investing P100M for a campaign], I certainly don't buy who do nothing but criticize others instead of see the positive side of things, I even don't buy educational attainment... For me, I'll vote the person who can admit his/her mistakes, rectify those mistakes in a fast manner, able to properly assess/weigh solutions to a problem, open to the public especially the financials [tax] and be able to execute firmly what he/she thinks is right to the majority even if it means having oppositions.

"Over the years, the ludong population was decimated by unrestrained and unregulated catching during its spawning season, coupled by destruction of its habitats like mangrove forests and watershed areas, and pollution of rivers and lakes, said Westly Rosario, chief of the National Integrated Fisheries Technology Development Center here.", according to a news report in Inquirer.net.

I don't know if I've eaten this fish before or not, but whether if I have or haven't eaten this Ludong which is also called The President's Fish as only the rich can afford it because of its purchase price of around P4,000.00 per kilogram, the point is it's already in the brink of extinction. Why? Because of the above reasons.

Losing such animal is not just losing one's food supply but is even worse in the macro-level as the balance of nature is disrupted every time species become extinct... We just don't feel it as the negative effects of such event is felt gradually. I do hope that the advocates in preserving this fish will be able to solve this problem which is of course with the help of the fishermen who catches fish and us citizens, especially the people who have direct access to the habitats of Ludong to be cleaned and eventually be preserved.

Our maid just had her first monthsary in our house last Friday and she had her 2nd day-off. I had a feeling she was not going back as she already got her full salary and left just 2 clothes and my feeling was right... As of this writing, it's been 3 days and she's still missing in action.

We called her family that's why we know she is okay but it still kinda pisses me off that she [the same is true to most of the maids] doesn't have the guts tna mag-abiso man lang before leaving in consideration na lang sa amin. I mean, if something happens to her, the authorities will take us as their first suspect and that will really piss me off to the highest level!

Good thing we are able to get another maid from the agency so we just had to order free pizza [because they delivered late] from Shakeys yesterday to fill-up our stomach and KFC the prior days. This is the first time we hired a maid that is 20 years old as our 3 ex-maids were all 40-60 years old thinking that they are more professional than the young ones as they have more experience but boy how wrong we were. Maybe this 20 year old maid is different from the rest... We'll see...

Is it fair to be arrested for protecting your children from accidentally killing a drunk and raging person who happens to be your son too? This is what happened to a mother from Capiz who accidentally killed his older son in an attempt to save the lives of her other children and sadly the life of this stupid son according to a news report in Inquirer.net.

Kaya I'm trying my best to stop drinking alcoholic products na because you never know what might happen under the influence of such products. The same goes to all people out there who love drinking alcohol. I do hope nothing as serious as this happen to you guys. As our doctors say, "Prevention is better than cure", the same is true to almost everything in life. By shying away from alcohol, we can prevent such unfortunate events. Personally, I hope I would be able to stop drinking alcohol as normally I drink not because of drinking but because of bonding... So next time, I'll just drink juice or water instead in bonding with people para iwas disgrasya.

Kawawa naman yung nanay, kaka-mother's day pa naman. Be safe everyone!

Tomorrow is the day to all our mothers, mommies, moms, mamas or however you call the person who patiently carried us for 9 months 24/7 [7 months or 8 months to some but that still quite a long time]. Now is the only time I consciously knew that Mother's Day in the Philippines is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of May. Before I just know about it via TV and now I can document it already via this blog.

Happy mothers day to my mommy and to my wife's mama as well [of course, we'll text them still to greet]! Who's to blame with the flash floods in Metro Manila? Is it the lawmakers [senators and congressmen]? Is it the law implementers [cops, MMDA, etc.]? Is it the citizens [you and me]? No one person or entity between these three entities is solely to blame. It's one problem that was collectively created by all of the above entities not just the cops or the MMDA as some lawmakers point out in an iritating article I just read now [iritating kasi puro pambabatikos ang alam, puro daldal, puro utos, kulang sa personal na kilos], not just the lawmakers or other politicians as some citizens point out and definitely not just the citizens as I normally point out. It's our collective stupidity and stubborness that resulted to such problem and basically all problems we have here and in other parts of the world. So stop pointing fingers as that doesn't solve ANYTHING and start doing little things that will solve problems individually as when we add up our individual efforts, collectively it will have a big positive impact thus positive results to all of us.

I'm no lawmaker but there should be a law that will push implementers to implement the law [forexample about these clearing operations in clogged drains]. A law that should scare citizens [kasi di madala sa magandang usapan eh] to put their litters and garbages in the PROPER places. And for the lawmakers, to be the leader by being a preacher [practicing teacher] by letting your actions do the talking and not your mouth.

I'm not telling anyone to stop talking as I preach as well [one way is via this blog] but don't just talk... Put your teachings into action. That's the measurement of our integrity! Do you wish to minimize or eradicate flash floods? Work and talk don't just talk and talk.
