While reading some internet news reports about the bout between England's, Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton and Philippines', Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao as I'm quite excited to watch the boxing match between the two fighters [so is the rest of the 90M Filipinos as well I believe] as for the Englishman, this would mean becoming The Pound-for-Pound fighter and for the Pambansang Kamao, this would mean being permanently marked in the boxing history as the First Filipino [first Asian] to win 6 different titles which could pave way to being one of the best fighters in the world if not the best.

But this particular line from Bob Arum caught my eye out of the many news reports I read, "The trainer (Roach) is training a future president of the Philippines. The people sitting here are already campaigning to be in the cabinet." This statement is in the Yahoo article entitled, "Pacquiao and Hatton ready for the big fight" where Arum [owner of Top Rank] said the above statement explaining why Team Pacquiao is not responding to the soft-trash talk uttered by Floyd Mayweather Sr., the head trainer of The Hitman.

I have nothing against the aspiration of Manny to run as president of the Philippines as anyone eligible to run for the position can run if they want to as long as they pass the preliminary requirements which majority can. Actually, Manny can even win the election if the sole basis will be popularity but the question still remain, "Is he capable of leading the country?" by leading, merely being a "strong influencer" is NOT enough. Knowing at least the basic issues of the entire country and the world, is a pre-requisite. Yes, like Erap said which I read in another Yahoo News Report, there's no academic education for being the president of a country and that you have advisers to give you advise on different subjects but does he have the keen analytical mind to decide and implement which of the hundreds of advises he'll receive from his supposedly fair, just and intelligent advisers [benefit of the doubt as always] on a large number of issues such as the environment, macro economics, job security, investments, justice system, etc.

Charisma, money, popularity are NOT ENOUGH to lead a country towards greatness. Should Manny decide to run 101%, then he should practice his "analytical mind" and his solid "implementation of his decision" as the president of a country, these are for me the 2 very important traits for a president in order for our country to fly and soar high. I say this because basically being the president of a country is pretty much like being an owner of a business venture, there are a lot of issues revolving around the business that needs to be solved, there's really no academic education to be a business-owner, everyone can become a business-owner but analyzing the things that may improve the business and implementing it despite a huge number of detractors is the key. As the president of a country and as the business-owner, do not let the people decide about the fate of the country or the business but rather decide about the country or the business' fate as it's your job as the president or business-owner to decide with your keen analytical mind and that your decision should be solid and final which is of course based on "proper analysis".

Just always remember that in analyzing, it should be for the betterment of the majority ]this doesn't mean that when people don't agree with your decision it's not for the betterment as sometimes even if people don't agree with your decisions, it's still the best for them] because no one man can unite all people as that is simply impossible because all of us have different beliefs and thinking. If Manny can analyze well and solidly implement his decision based on his analysis from huge number of advises the betterment of the majority, then he might become a very good president. The same is true to any other president-wannabes like Mr. Padyak, Mr. Red Cross and Mr. Benepisyo.
